About

There are several bridges out there that operate in different tradeoff spaces acc to the user segment they want to cater to.

As an aggregator, we think it's our responsibility to provide full transparency to the end-user when we show them the quote. For this reason, we are building “bridgeinfo.xyz” that rates bridges on different parameters like security, performance, features, etc.

Equipped with these scores just like how today on DEXs you set a “Slippage Tolerance” developers will be able to set a “Minimum Security Score” on Socket. With this integrators will be able to “request for quote with a minimum security score of 4” which will return all quotes from all bridges which have been rated 4 and above in security

This allows us to integrate all cross-chain liquidity sources without worrying about security consequences. It allows integrators to specify the security level they want to attain, providing them full control over what they serve to the end-user.

NOTE: Socket team is just bootstrapping BridgeInfo, BridgeInfo will be a open-source database that will be maintained like https://l2beat.com/

We’re working with amazing community members & researchers in the space to make the framework as robust as possible. Here are some of the top folks contributing:

The 5 major categories we are going to generate a score for are,

  1. Security
  2. Performance
  3. Extractable Value
  4. Connectivity
  5. Capability

Unlike the majority of the frameworks out there which have tried to rate bridges depending upon their bridge design or construction and give a broad idea of how they are fair, our aim is to generate a formulated score of each weighting the properties impacting the end-user.
